Step into the shadows of history at The Parkside, located at 201 West Spring Street in the legendary oil town of Titusville, Pennsylvania. Built in 1913, this 21,000-square-foot, four-story landmark began as a bustling YMCA and has witnessed more than a century of transformation, tragedy, and spiritual intrigue.
Long before its modern revival, The Parkside stood amid Titusville’s grand social district—alongside iconic destinations like The Parshall Hotel and Opera House and the luxurious Brunswick Hotel. These storied buildings endured fires, a devastating flood, and years of decline, yet during the oil boom they welcomed presidents, oil barons, dignitaries, and renowned performers. Applause once filled the opera house, and elegance defined the halls of the Brunswick, making this area a cultural heartbeat of the region.
But luxury and entertainment were only part of the story.
The site also hosted gatherings of the Titusville Spiritual Society, adding a mysterious dimension to its past. Among its members was Anne, a psychic medium believed by many to still remain within the building.
After surviving fires, floods, and reported violence, the structure became a YMCA. Today, visitors and investigators alike believe the past never truly left.
